The Middle East Society for Sexual Medicine (MESSM) is a unique group of specialists interested in Sexual Medicine. This year’s Biennial Meeting is an example of the integration of expertise and exchange of knowledge between physicians having first hand involvement with the Middle Eastern couple’s sexual difficulties. The meeting will take place in Cairo, the largest city in the Middle East and the place where cultures meet. The MESSM has always realized the special characteristics and needs of Middle Eastern patients and this year’s program aims to bridge the gap of information in a background of the international experience. We have invited speakers from the Urological, Andrological, Family Medicine and Psychiatric disciplines to tackle problems like sex education in the Middle East, media coverage and female sexual dysfunction. Experts will present state-of-the-art lectures and videos on erectile dysfunction treatment, controversies involving Peyronie’s disease management and the ongoing debate on the safety of androgen replacement therapy.
The meeting comes after the 4th International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (ICSM) in Madrid, Spain. We take the opportunity of having several MESSM members being part of that pivotal event to present a digest of the most recent evidence-based recommendations in the field of sexual medicine. To present pertinent information on the practice of Sexual Medicine, not only an organization like the Egyptian Urological Association is invited for a dedicated session, both the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) as well as the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) wil contribute as well.
The program will provide an opportunity for practitioners interested in Sexual Medicine to interact with local and international experts to further identify problems unique to the region and enhance the progress towards better treatment strategies. We invite you to become part of the experience and look forward to meet you in Cairo.
